Credit File and Defaulted Overdraft

Hi,
In 2005, I had a £1000 overdraft with Co-Op and regularly used it when overtime or bonuses were low at work.

Unfortunately, I became ill and my wages plummeted just as several guaranteed cheques hit my account.

First there were the charges, then the interest, a default notice etc... It ended up with the account being £2200 overdrawn.

My illness became worse and I left work. The bank agreed to extend my overdraft to cover all the charges, cheques and fees BUT then reduce it by £200 a month, i couldn't manage to keep up the repayments on the reducing overdraft.

Co-Op bank transferred the debt recovery to Phoenix Credit and I have been making agreed repayments ever since. Recently, Co-Op bank took the account back in house, but on checking my credit file they have amended it to show I'm in a repayment plan but over 6 months behind with payments. They have said that this is because there is no concept of lateness with an overdraft and so they apply lateness based on the how much you repay against the outstanding debt.

I now owe them £1500 and am repaying £48 a month, and the Co-Op have agreed to this themselves, not through Phoenix.

Can anyone advise how I can get them to change the payment status on my credit file as it looks bad when I am making all payments but they show it being late always.

Thanks

Mousey
