Lockerbie to Edinburgh Waverley by train

I want to travel early afternoon on the 19 Sept and return early afternoon on the 20 Sept, but the cheapest I can find is £37.00 for 2 adults. Is there anyway of getting this cheaper? Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thats the cheapest in the timeframe you specify... £8.00 Advance Singles out and £10.50 Advance Singles back.
If you can change your timings, dep out 18:30 and dep back 18:10, £7.00 Advance Singles can be used.... total = £28.00... a saving of £10.

You may be able to find a bus/coach cheaper.

Is it £37 return for two adults- that isn't bad for the journey. Lockerbie is fairly rural- I think there is a service bus from Dumfries to Edinburgh, but it will take a loooong time!
