preventing payment via Visa debit

I've recently sold my car as it's surplus to requirements as I now have a company car when I phoned up to cancel the policy I've been told I'll have a £35 charge deducted from my card tomorrow then a further £85 on the 30th I think the £85 is a !!!! take to be honest. I can understand the cancellation fee but not the other amount which I think is the amount still owed minus the payments I've made already is/was insured by I buy eco.

What does the t&c say regarding cancellations?

Not got them to hand I could however lift enough money from the bank and then report the card as lost and wait a few days until I get a new one. However would they chace me or chance of being hit with a CCJ?

If it falls within the t&c, then there is no reason why they should not pursue you for outstanding payment even if you card is deactivated and they are unable to take a payment.

I would check the t&c's they will tell you where you stand giving you a good idea.

If you withdraw all the funds from your account and report the card lost they will take the payments anyway - result - you get stuffed for bank charges.
Please listen to what other posters have told - if the charges are within the terms and conditions you signed up for grin and bear it and pay up.
