Manual typewriter tabs

Can anyone remember as far back as manual typewriters? My mother in law has one and has set the tabs but can't remember how to undo them. There is a red button which says TAB but this seems only to set them and not undo it.

will this help - if you go to home page and maybe type your make in it might have exact instructions but, from what i remember when i used one it was lift lever up or down to set/undo...x

Thanks for the link and will try that. I did ask my mother in law but as she is 87 she can't remember but can still type at an awsome speed on the machine.
