Bruges for 5/6 nights in September?

Me and my partner wish to go away for 5/6 nights in September, from 23rd-27th/28th, we seem to have found a euro star return from brussels (which I hear can also include Bruges?) for £55 each.
We have a fairly strict budget, £200ish in total each, so a £300/£350 hotel for 5/6 nights, could possibly stretch a little higher, but being poor students we'd want cheapest possible, in Bruges center fairly respectable place. £70/80 a night for the whole week, not been able to find anything matching that but am very new to this...
Guessing with a cashback site as well it wouldn't be too bad, anyone got good recommendations for a hotel in Bruges for around that price, 3*+, or would we have to widen our price budget?
Thanks

The Ibis in bruges is fairly central and will probably be just about in your budget range.
I have not done eurostar to bruges, but it is my understanding you get bruges included in the cost (about an hour from brussels)
Have you been before? The only reason i ask is i personally would find 5/6 days in bruges a bit much, dont get me wrong its a lovely city and one of my favourite places to visit, but im not sure there would be that much to do for that long, particularly if your on a budget.
Have you thought about splitting the visit between bruges and brussels?

Yeah, we have plans to go visit Brussels and Bruges, possibly a couple of other places too (what are transport links/prices like?), so hotel could be in either really, preferably Bruges though.
Cheers, will check out that hotel now...0 -
Looking at Brussels specifically.
Louise Hotel - €400 (£325) - 5 nights
Eurostar + Megabus - £120 (all together)
Thats £220 each, plus spending money no doubt around £350ish?
Hopefully find something as good as that or under, any tricks to be doing/looking out for?0 -
Public transport is very reasonable price wise and the links are very good. There are many different kind of tickets you can purchase but they might not be advertised very well.
If you have an idea of where you want to go and what you want to see, I am more then happy to help you.
I am a native Flemish person :0)0 -
I have been able to find that, including breakfast, hotel, eurostar and megabus it would cost £222 each for Wednesday to Monday at the Louise Hotel in the center of Brussels, £180 each for Thursday through to Monday.
I hope thats right anyway, that seems a fair price doesn't it, ir should I be looking for even cheaper...cheers *onlyme*, may be coming back to you on that one!0 -
Prices seem reasonable for Brussels.
Have visited Bruges several times in recent years, but Brussels only once, but I would think if you are planning on using it as a base to visit other cities etc then it would be a better bet.
I would image you will have enough money with what you have said, although i did find Brussels to be more expensive than Bruges for eating out and drinking.
You will have a great time though as we have found the local people to be really friendly and not forgetting the Beer which is really nice!

Did you specifically want to travel to Bruges or have you chosen it because you think it will be cheap? I only ask because for your budget you could go to other places too, probably cheaper.0

We chose Bruges/Brussels for what there is there, not the price, would rather look around brussels/bruges than Antwerp and Ghent...
If that £180, 4 night package is real/cheap as can do then thats more than good enough for what were looking at, spend a couple of days in both Bruges/Brussels, possibly a day in Antwerp.0
