Nothing right now as I don't really have any money, but if I had to choose it's probably clothes (to be fair though that is because I've just started a new office job and am having to buy clothes that aren't jeans and T-shirts!). That said though depending on my situation it can vary - when my boyfriend and I were both still at uni I went through a few weeks of overspending on going out drinking because he was finishing and went out a *lot* to celebrate, which I couldn't really afford but sort of went along with (I know I know, but I wasn't really an au fait MSE then!)."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0

Should have had another one - the kids!
I grew up in the East End of London, struggle to afford school uniform and school trips. So although we are comfortable, I would definitely help the kids out even if money was short. Luckily, they also have a " spend only if you can afford it mentality ", but I have always wanted them not to feel left out.0 -
F, is my overspend. More than the budget but we have enough money not to go into debt because of it. Could cut back if needed to but we also eat out with friends so some of the cost should/does come out of our entertainments budget.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Hobbies for me - I can wander into a clothes shop, spend hours in there and come out empty handed. I can spend 10 minutes in a bookstore/arts and crafts shop, and come out minus £30£10 a day: March - August: £1653.54/£1840; September £92.86/£300NSD: April - August: 49 NSDs; September: 9/12101 in 1001 Project: 05/07/09 - 01/04/12 (8/101 completed)0

I think for me it has to be Holidays/Travelling and eating out. I love a good restaurant especially if it is outdoors next to the sea.
Having to spend a lot more now on the gym though to get off all that weight.Debt Free and Happy. Enjoy Every Minute of Every Day.0 -
Books!
They rarely have the genres / authors I'm after in public libraries so I end up buying them online, and I love browsing charity shops and frequently end up coming out with more than I can really carry without struggling. It's more of a storage problem than a money problem, though, and I have an absolutely huuuuuuuge backlog of things to read.0 -

Are you me?
My money vices are holidays and eating out. I would estimate that I spend about £7,000-£10,000 per year on holidaysand about £5,000 per year on eating out
.
God, that is loads isn't it?! I didn't realise quite how much I was spending on these things until now!0 -
My main vice is probably holidays. Currently Im going on around 6 holidays a year and it is by far my biggest expense. I guess in theory I can't really afford it but it's not putting me out of pocket.
This would be closely followed by eating out. I eat out an awful lot and I need to cut down really. I've been a lot better recently though.0 -
I put 'F' but it's really takeaways not eating out that's my biggest vice. I've tried to cut back but I always get that feeling on a Friday . In my defence I have cut it back to once a fortnight, so a little pat on the back for me
Edit: I've just worked out I spend around £600 a year on takeaways...:whistle:Mortgage: Was: £154,495 Oct 2039 Now: £82,340.34 May 2037Swagbucks ~ £155 (2024 ~ £395)Surveys ~ £149.19 (2024 ~ £280.14)Make £2025 in 2025 #5 ~ £964.62 ~ (2024 ~ £2,561.04)0 -

Yep me too, I can't even go in a supermarket without checking out the book selection!
I would use the library more but I always forget to renew my books and the fines cost more than the books themselves :eek:0
