Hi, I've been following the OS board for a couple of weeks now and am gradually converting to a true OSer. I've got the SC, tons of baking stuff, white vinegar, microfibre cloths and finally got my stardrops yesterday.
The latest stage in my transformation is going to be breadmaking. I really want one of the posh ones I've been reading about on here but that wouldn't be very money saving when I've already got a breadmaker gathering dust.
I've got one made by Elevation that I bought for £20 in Woolworths a couple of years age but I can't find the recipe book that came with it. I've tried googling it but nothing comes up and have tried a couple of standard bread recipes but none have been edible
. Has anyone got this breadmaker and the book or failing that has anyone got a foolproof recipe for a standard loaf.
Thanks in advance.

Not edible as in "taste disgusting" or "come out like bricks"?
There are all sorts of hints and tips in the main breadmaking thread which might help sort you out, plus other helpful threads about iffy loaves in the collection.

Culpepper, I've just had a look on that site and it looks very useful, thanks.:smileyhea0 -
It may be worth trying a bread mix in it, about 50p from Asda, see how that turns out, if it's still inedible you may need to buy another machine. Otherwise experimentation is the best way.

500g strong flour
300ml room temp water with 1 tablespoon olive oil and one teaspoon of sugar

Elevation Bread Maker Manual http://kitchen.manualsonline.com/mdownloads/3517e87a-0f86-4f87-b2b6-187d7fce6edf.pdf
It takes a while to load (its the manual and the cookbook...22 pages in all) but thought it might be of help to someone0 -
Hi;
I'm an old codger who bakes on a regular basis every uther day, I loved my Elevation machine but have found the Pakts of Hovis bread mix from Sainsbury's so good,I use the machine to mix the dough andthen put it in a bowl to rise,I then give it a kneading and cut it in half and place in normal bread tins to rise again set the oven to 180 and bake for 15-20 mins the results are superb for a nice soft small loaf,The reason I came on this site was to try and obtain a new mixing container as mine is about worn out,If any one has a spare be it S/H or new I would interested in purchasing same.I have misplaced my instruction book but if it does turn I will print and email it to whoever needs same its only a small booklet about 10 pages about 6x8 if I remember, Cheers Ernie0
