ie update/probem?

my sister is at it again or rather her machine is !!after this morning update from microsoft she is unable to start windows, not even in safe mode it goes to the start up screen but cuts off before it reaches the desktop it then proceeds to reboot again but same thing happens.,she gets as far as selecting safe mode but same again the machine cuts off before she can get started. any ideas please?

    Bring the options up to boot into safe mode. Can you choose an option saying something like 'last known good conifguration'?

    If it does, try that.

    yes it does come up with that option but stillswitches off before screen changes.
