Ellis capital investments

Had a phone call this am from a "gent" who claimed I had a conversation with them earlier in the year re investment opportunities;He was just returning my call!! I denied all knowledge and hung up on him.Anyone heard of them in connection with scams??Or are they legit??

There's no company specifically called Ellis Capital Investments authorised to give advice by the FSA by the looks of it. There are plenty called Ellis with something else following, but it doesn't look like this company is authorised to conduct investment advice in the UK as they've introduced themselves to you.

I'd therefore be quite careful.

Thanks Aegis - have no intention of dealing with them - just interested in whether they were gen. or not - the guy seemed rather puzzled when I said I hadn't spoken to them earlier this year but I guess that is probably part of the sales pitch!!

They have rung me back re an investment with Monobank.plc ?? Best thing since sliced bread !!!!

Definitely scammers then. No-one legitimate calls to sell you a specific investment without a factfind or a pre-existing relationship.

Next time they call, ask if you can put them on hold for a moment and see how long you can keep them on the line for.

They have obviously got my name from the share register of a Company I do hold shares in, as they quoted my holding.Don't know how they got the phone number tho'.
