No contact from seller re:collection

I won an item on eBay 5 days ago, the listing stated collection only, cash on collection preferred.
I have emailed the seller a good few times over collection but they haven't responded, its a new seller with only 5 feedback. The listing started at 99p and i won the item for £11.50 in the listing the seller said they would accept £50 to end the auction early.
Now I'm thinking they are ignoring me as they dont want the item sold for £11.50.
Am I right in thinking there is nothing I can do about this? It something I haven't ever come across before.
It's just highly annoying. I haven't yet paid for the item as they said they would prefer cash.

Personally I would pay now by paypal to protect yourself against an NPB, then after 7 days if seller hasn't contacted you start an item not received claim to get the paypal money back and then neg the seller. If seller refunds you before then decide how to proceed with feedback once they give you an excuse as to why they haven't been in contact.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I am guilty of doing this before i had a 360 console with 9 games, got very little for it and said to the buyer that i had dropped the console and smashed it, and refund any payment made to me - i actually got a lot more selling it in the local paper than at eBay at the time. This is probably what he will be doing on this sale, if you get the item great, if not well better luck next time.
Pay with your paypal just in case he says you have not paid.Owed out = lots. :cool:0 -
I have paid via paypal now, so if I still haven't had any contact within 2 days then I'll open a dispute.
It's really annoying - why not just put a higher start price??
