I'd appreciate any help on this

We're sorry, your snipe for ************* was not successful, the reason for this was "Bid too Low"
Although your bid was higher than the winning bid, we were not able to snipe this item as your bid was below the next bid increment. You can view eBay's bid increments here

To outid someone it has to be by a certain increment. If the High bid is £2 and it needs to go up in a 5p increment and you bid £2.01 the £2.0 bid wins. The link you have explains the increment amounts0

just bid on the item yourself, put in the amount you are willing to pay for it and if you win it for less all is well and good. if you dont you havent lost anything apart from the item. it is all automatic at ebaymortui non mordent0

I only ever snipe when I'm away from the computer, OR if it's an item I know I'll get carried away on lol.. Saves me spending more than I set myself- willpower doesn't always work!0
