All new claims come under the Local Housing Allowance which is the replacement for Housing Benefit. Your local council website is bound to have a section that provides advice to landlords on how it works.
The following forum is dedicated to a discussion of the pros and cons of HB/LHA claimants.

OP stands for original poster. See it's easy when you understand the lingo.:pThe bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
"Disability benifit" (sic) is usually/probably
DLA - disability Living Allowance... see
http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/DisabledPeople/FinancialSupport/DG_10011731
As a Landlord I'd want to understand what the disability was (eg see the award letter from DWP...) in case the tenant might then want the property modified... which they would be entirely entitled to ask for (IMHO..)
Cheers!
