Hello........I need some advice, i run a small business and the PRS keep calling me to say i need to pay for a lisence to have a radio on in my office/ showroom/ play cds, is this true or is all some elaborate lie?/ rip off thingy??
any help?? / advice?? they phone me about twice a week at the moment and it seems quite pricey like £200 a year???
There is huge debates regarding whether a PRS licence is required for businesses. You could check out other large threads on the Federation of Small Businesses forum and the Digital Spy forums as well.
There is, of course, my Number 10 petition as well, asking for clarification of the law regarding radios in the work place, http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/Clarify-PRS/
You need to read the information posted on the threads on here and other forums before you do anything, the general statement that if you play a radio at work, you need a licence is complete rubbish. The PRS choose to interpret the law in their own way and there has not been a legal ruling on this.Always get a Qualified opinion - My qualifications are that I am OLD and GRUMPY:p:p0
