Hard Disk Crash

Just burn important stuff to CD every once in a while.
I would only use raid to increase performance rather than as a backup. Raid wouldnt really help you if the whole HD packed up (like what happened), as u still lost a HD, and if you had burnt the stuff to CD why have a second HD mirroring everything (including non important stuff).
Defragging in WinXP/2k or Win 95/98/Me?0 -
Ive got mine set up so I have my big HD 80gb as the main and the smaller 20gb as the backup.
I dont bother backing up everything though.Quite a lot of my software is on CDs so I just backup downloads, emails ,pictures etc to the smaller disc. When I have about 4gb I write it to a dvd and start again. Its good to use the second disc if you encode video or rip your Audio discs as they can take a lot of room and fragment the drive quickly.0
