Ebay alternative to paypal dispute - rubbish!

I doubt it is even a real tracking number, A scammer did the same to me once putting in random tracking numbers just to prolong the claim, I eventually got my money back with a chargeback as paypal could only get £0.23p back as they had withdrawn all the money.

Surely they cant win dispute if they have only sent item after it was raised and nearly 4 weeks after payment. Ebay says they should dispatch within 7 days and this is nearly 4 weeks on and I bought replacements on ebay yest afternoon (more expensive but great feedback for quick delivery as time is now crucial due to original non-delivery). They are swim-wear type items and I bought two from original seller but now bought two more expensive from another seller (exact same item more or less so not a better item), If these original ones turn up I will have 4 for my holiday when I only need 2 - help!

If they turn up you have a right to cancel and refuse delivery, say it was too late and a month is way out of order for any dispatch time.

The fact that the buyer stated that delivery can take 15 days suggests to me that the item has been sent by normal post. On the RM website it mentions about the time to leave an item before claiming that it is lost and it is 15 days after the latest date it should normally have been delivered.

The number uploaded could be a transaction number (not a delivery type). She is probably a buyer who thinks that as she has a certificate of posting it is not her problem if the item goes missing.

Ebay said it was a "good seller" so now this "good seller" does not ship and can't provide proof of tracking ...

They are not a power-seller but near 6000 feedback (99.8%)
I order tons on ebay so will keep a look out for anything needing signed for and check if it feels like this or has a similar number begining PPA or PA etc and refuse to accept delivery. Still cant believe that ebay would say to give them another ten days and re-contact ebay if still nothing! Totally shocking and basically saying to sellers dispatch whenever you want, ignore the 7 day thing.

A good seller is just one that has good ratings...it doesn't mean that she understands the rules concerning proof of postage and it being her responsibility to get the item to the buyer. And maybe she has put the number in thinking that will be enough to cover her.

Agree. eBay doesn't quite get the buyers side of things sometimes.

I would strongly advise against that on a public forum. There is no need for any of us to know the seller here as it will also identify the OP and it has been my experience that giving away too may details on an open forum is never a good idea.
