Erm i'm not sure with this. After four and a half years of using a sofa on a daily basis (I presume?) then maybe it would start to suffer. The sale of goods act doesn't cover general wear and tear.

You could ring Argos and see what they say? I wouldn't go in all guns blazing though because i'm not sure you could demand anything after so long :)

  • I would expect arogs to do anything alot of wear and tear occurs in 4.5 years.

With it only happening to 2/5 seats also doesnt go in your favour - I presume these are the most used?

Hi Got a report off a upholster .. cost me 30 quid, he reported that the fault was due to poor manufacturing and poor quality. Provided Argos with the report , got a phone call the next day ( as I had sent it recorded delivery) Stating that they had approved a replacement and once authorised they would call me to take my order . So Yesterday i got a phone call they took my order for a brand new sofa £800 quids worth and refunded me the cost of the report. On top of that i have a repairable sofa which will be ebayed as soon as i know my delivery date ...

    RESULT !!!!!!!!

So dont forget even if the product is out of warrenty its also worth phoning the supplier ... YEY
