sorry, should have said
....from this particular company - one of the tobacco companies probably maintains sainsburys' cigarette kiosks in return for better placing of their brands.

most likely thing is that sainsbury's have "delisted" them, therefore are cutting the price to get rid of them quick, to make space for other brands. supermarkets do this all the time, but usually not with cigarettes. Happened in somerfield about 5 years ago with more menthol and, more recently, with winfield and west (remember them?!)The word is BOUGHT, not BROUGHT.
It's LOSE, NOT LOOSE.

All cig kiosk in supermarkets are supplied FOC, by the ciggy companies, and fitted FREE, price 1k-10k , the supermarket only pays for installation of electrics and Data cables.
Plus if a company wants to put their confectonary on display also, they pay as well.0 -
I have bought loads of these in my local sainsburys but in the form of 10 packets. 20s were full price. Dunhills were cheap as well.S!!!!horpe0

Why should he care? You can sell cigarettes for any price you like: the tax is fixed (unlike VAT, which is presumably why VAT stands for value added tax). If you want to sell them at a loss then that's your problem, not his.Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0 -

Please guys, don't smoke.
See your GPs and get yourselfs on a quitting plan.
I am a medical student and I have seen people with no legs, people with no lungs (well, completely nackered by emphysema) and people with f**cked up hearts. Quit now and the risk of you having a heat attack returns to normal in 10 years.
If you can't quit cut down or smoke half a cig and smoke the other later, thus halving your daily intake.
Don't take this personally,
ScottLink now removed! sorry0
