Hi i have loads of dvds that i need a bit of clear out, and i was going to try selling them Amazon but i'm concerned that i leave myself open to chargebacks because amazon stpilate what postage you charge and therfore what service you use. anyone know whether i can choose recorded or indeed special post or am i open to claims by using standard postage on dvds and blu-rays?
thanks
thanks

Well you only get a set amount for postage, £1.99 for dvd's I believe, so it's up to you what method you use but you won't get much money if you use anything other than standard.
You do obviously leave yourself open for chargebacks but as long as you get proof of postage then you should be ok? Hopefully somebody more experienced will have better advice. Think happy & you'll be happy

I send all mine 2nd class never had any problems. if you start sending recorded you will eat into any profits. As long as you get proof of posting you can claim for any losses upto £390

I can't believe I actually found the Amazon fee structure, I usually get completely random pages when I try the help system.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=3149301
This page though is slightly more useful as it shows postage credit and fees:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/display.html?ie=UTF8&nodeId=200038780
You get a net postage credit of £1.05 for a DVD but you also need to pay fees on the item as well so the net return can be quite low. There is another similar thread running which might be useful to have a read of as well.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I'm impressed i've never managed to find anything useful
The odd thing is that I tried yesterday and got all sort of rubbish, yet the same search turned this up first time today.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I always send mine as 2nd class large letters, which is a little cheaper than packets. It doesn't matter if the item isn't a letter, as long as the size is right - don't forget to check this at the post office! I'm not convinced there is much difference between 1st and 2nd class these days, and as long as you post fairly promptly buyers seem quite happy - and most times you will still be faster than Amazon themselves!0
