OK, I admit I was wrong

Yep, and look what happened to Zimbabwe! Half the NZ under 12s team can give them a drubbing these days. The Weimar republic used to have full test status too0

The coverage here was very funny. Full of optimism going into the final day, "At some point in the future a test side will make 522 runs to win in a forth innings. I think and hope that time is today".
And then............
Oops.
PS I was standing down just past 3rd man (opposite end to the Pavillion, can't remember the name of the stand) on the last day of the Oval test in the last Ashes series. Apparently I'm on TV quite a lot in the UK right now. Gone but not Forgotten!0 -

New Aussie team seem to have the potential to be as good as the last.0 -

Maybe in the batting. No Warne though - he is sorely missed. Mitchell Johnson is always going to be a bit wayward with the ball because he angles it across the batsman so he's no McGrath. Looks handy for runs down the order too so certainly he's no McGrath!
Hughes looks like a cracking opener.0 -

Warne is one of those once in a lifetime bowlers.0 -

True. McGrath the same I think TBH. I've never seen a bowler as metronomic as him.
Australia are badly missing a decent twirler though. From what (little) I've seen, there's nobody at State level who's likely to take wickets in numbers in Test Matches. Perhaps there's someone playing for a club somewhere in Dubbo or Orange who's going to do the job.0 -
if flintoff breaks down during this series we're screwed, hard to imagine us getting 20 wickets without him - harmison would have to come in, even if he performs the batting starts to look shallow, especially since all you have to do to get swann out is bring on peter siddle.
pietersen looking dodgy too.
on the plus side, mitchell johnson took enough wickets to keep his place, so we can look forward to some more of him spraying the ball to all parts and going for 6 an over in the next match. let's hope they don't manage to fix him.0 -
Tell you what, let us just celebrate the victory for now instead of finding reasons why we cannot win the series
you lot are even bears at cricket.
'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -
