I need £5000 for a new Car.

Can you pay a garage in multiple payment methods like cheque for £2500 & pay £2500 on a 0% purchase credit card?

anyone bought with credit card as im wondering what charge they will add on, still better than a Loan but curious anyway.

I have bought a car using credit cards (split between 2 cards) 'tho it was a few years ago. I suggest you agree on the price before you talk about method of payment as the seller will not want to pay the card fee. However in my case when he thought the sale was being lost and I turned to walk away, the salesmans boss accepted my method of payment.

I agree with not mentioning the CC until the deal is agreed!

Can you sneak a peek at the dealer's premises and see whether he displays stickers in the window saying that CC are accepted? If he does, I think Visa or whoever would take a dim view if he refused a CC for any part of the sale!
