postage refund query?

Hi all just wondered if any of you could give me some advice. I bought a dress off ebay from a powerseller who has lots of positive feedback. The postage cost for the dress was £8 which is a bit steep considering it looks only a light weight dress. At the weekend a dress was delivered which wasnt the one i ordered, wrong size, colour and style and it was sent packaged in a carrier bag. Total cost of postage was £2.60. I immediately emailed the seller back just letting them know they had sent the wrong dress etc. The seller replied back stating that i had to fill in their form and send the dress back through first class recordered delivery. Which buy the time i packaged it up properly and resent it back, it cost me another £4.
I've polity asked for a refund for the £4 as its their mistake and not mine and got this message back:
our return policy states that even for the unsatisfactory we do not refund the p&p but we can make the exception to give the full refund!
but all our full refund will be made in two installment one is the cost of the dress will be refund when the return dress is received and the p&p will be given when the positive feedback is given!
I still want the original dress but dont want to be out of pocket on postage just wondered where i stand.
Sorry for the long story.

Have you actually sent the dress yet? If not then open a paypal dispute for signifcantly not as described. You will not get the price of returning it, but you will get a full (inc. postage) refund. That message is feedback extortion, and should be reported to ebay. Also if it was a buy-it-now purchase then they legally can't withold a full refund. This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.0

As TD said also you dont have to send it back 1st class recorded you just need proof of there receipt so 2nd class recorded would be fine. Also report them to ebay for feedback extortion. You dont need to fill in there form just open a paypal dispute SNAD0

Hi Guys - thanks for the replies. I did actual send the dress back yesterday before i wrote on the board. I thought that i'd have to send it back anyway so rather now than later. The dress was a make a offer auction for which the seller agreed the price i offered. I'll get in touch with ebay - do you think i should contact the seller and tell her thats bang out of order? and to refund?0
