baby training cups

Hi, I've heard about Avent bottle to beaker lids for my grandson, and wonder if anyone has used these? Are they freeflowing or non spill? My daughter wants the freeflowing type.

She's struggling a little to get him to drink out of his cup although he's not too bad with milk, but other than that ....!

Thanks for any help.

Margaret

I think Tommee Tippee do a beaker system that has both non-spill and free flow lids.
I got mine from Mothercare, but DD decided to go straight to an ordinary cup ! Bless !

I bought every bottle/cup going including the tops and handles that fit the Avent bottles. If they are they what I got they are non spill but do have a little plastic bit that comes off (should make it free flow but sorry I couldnt say for certain)

To be honest we havent used, or didnt like, most of these new fangled cups and just went with a Tommee Tippee free flow (First Cup) beaker when she was 5 months, I think they are great and we still use them now :D

I've just used the Tommee Tippee ones as listed above and they've been great. My daughter has managed fine with them and they're cheap too :D
Here I go again on my own....

  • Thanks for all your helpful replies. I shall pass these on to my daughter. I bought a tomee tipee cup for my grandson and he seems to be using it ok. It may be him thats the problem because he's not drinking enough because he doesn't like/want water and not that there's a problem with the cup!

I cannot remember what I did with my daughters when they were small, I didn't have all the choices then (well I don't think I did!) and we certainly didn't have the 'non spill' type. (Listen to me, it sounds as if I was doing this back in the ark when it was only 25 years ago LOL!)

This one here wouldn't drink from a nozzle (or a bottle!), but would drink quite happily from a little tomee tippee food pot like a big girl - I've recenlty got some doidy cups, which she loves too. No lids on them though, so I have to take a food pot full of drink around with me AND the cup as well when we go out and about.

Just following on from what Ladybird said....Tommee Tippee do some sipper lids which fit onto the First Cups I linked to, I havent managed to find any yet to give tham a try, but I have seen a similar thing in tesco's which included the cup as well although it was quite pricey

  • Thanks ella-ella-ella, that looks quite good - even if he doesn't take to them straight away these look good as the next step.

Looks good for adults for when driving too as I find 'feeding' my husband a problem when we're on a long trip in hot weather! He doesn't drink out of bottle neck/can tops and coke/fizzy drinks just aren't the same out of a straw!
