Tesco Credit Card - Declined

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone else had been declined by Tesco for the Tesco Clubcard Credit card (the one with 0% on purchases for 12 months). It said I was "Declined - eligibility" and I was wondering if anyone else had got this result? Is this because I don't earn enough to qualify? I do currently have 2 credit cards, 1 MBNA with a balance on which I pay off each month (getting rid of the student overdraft) and a capital one credit builder I have had for a while and I use for odd purchases and pay off. I was confused because the decision by Tesco happened instantly (as in seconds) and I wasn't sure if it had gone as far as a credit check.
Any Feedback would be great
Thanks

I got my Tesco card a long time ago. How long have you been a student for? If your debts are quite high perhaps that's why you're being rejected. Stick with your other two cards for now and get hold of a Tesco Clubcard. Can you think back to making any mistakes; for example, using your term-time address etc. The clubcard points are not very good on the credit; it's just an extra point per £4 spend which isn't impressive."Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; but remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for."

I haven't been a student for over 12 months now, I've been in full time employment for 12 months and I earn just over £1000 a month. I got accepted for the MBNA platinum with the cash transfer facility which is how I transfered my overdraft over and I've been paying off chunks every month. The credit builder capital one card i got when 18 months ago to build my credit and I have a very healthy credit limit I don't use very often at all. I have a clubcard already which I use so its all good. I only really wanted it to close down my capital one but I will persist with the one I have. Thanks x0

I was puzzled as Tesco rejected my application.I have never missed payments and never been rejected by Halifax,Virgin,Barclaycard,ASDA and Citicard.I would suggest not making any more applications for about three months and try one of the other providers.0

Any reason to keep this card then? If it's got a large amount of available credit then it'll most likely affect further applications. If you close the card, it'll take up to 2 months to be reported to the CRA's. Applying once it's marked as settled would be my suggestion."A child of five could understand this. Hi,
I got a Clubcard Credit Card last month which was my 1st ever credit card. Someone I know also applied around the same time and it was his first card too, and although we both earn the same amount and he thinks his credit history is similar to mine (been over his overdraftlimit once or twice, no missed payments on his phone contract etc) he was turned down. I have no idea why this is!0
