Hello,
I've been reading other peoples posts for over a year now but very rarely post but really need some advise/shoulder to cry on. I am soon to be 38 and have been with my partner who is 45 for 14 years. We are happy in most aspects but the debts/ financial situation is starting to take its toll. In a nutshell we owe aprox 26k which I know compared to some of the people on here isn't that much but it is becoming unmanagble for us. Every month we just seem to slide a little bit further into debt just to get through the month (this week we are living on toast and cereal as we dont get paid until friday and every month there is always at least 1 bill that dosn't get paid) I have done all the obvious stuff, cancelling unnessasery direct debits, setting shopping budgets, ebayed nearly the entire contents of my wardrobe but it hasn't really made much of a dent. The thing that is really making me unhappy though is that I really want kids and we are just not able to at the moment and the thought of being pregnant with this amount of debt terrifies me but at the same time I am worried that time isnt really on my side anymore and cant bear the thought of not being able to have children because i havnt been able to manage my finances. The horrible thing is we havn't really got much to show for the debt apart from a few holiday snaps and bits and pieces for our house and now this whole situation is tearing me apart and I wake up in the middle of the night crying because of the mess I have made. I don't know if any of you will be able to help me but I just need to get it off my chest.
thanks.

Hi Badpenny, couldn't just read and run. Have you contacted one of the debt charities? You can speak with them anonymously - they will go through your income and expenditure and try to arrange a budget for you. Try CCCS - good luck.LBM 30/6/9 Unsecured debts [STRIKE]£25,323.48[/STRIKE] £0 :T Debt free

Also can you post an SOA - sometimes someone else casting an eye over your outgoings is really refreshing and useful for letting you identify true overspending!LBM 30/6/9 Unsecured debts [STRIKE]£25,323.48[/STRIKE] £0 :T Debt free

CCCS is Consumer Credit Counselling Service. Google them - they are great a debt charity. They will help you manage your debt and if you set a DMP (free of course) they deal directly with your creditors on your behalf. When you speak with them it is anonymous - they take your income and expenditure and give you a list of your options.LBM 30/6/9 Unsecured debts [STRIKE]£25,323.48[/STRIKE] £0 :T Debt free
