    Yes messing up a boiler is VERY dangerous but the evidence thus far that this muppet of a decorator was actually responsible is extraordinarily slim.

    Suggesting to sue based on such evidence suggests you have little idea what you are on about IMHO. Given that the OP has suggested that her financial situation is not optimal how is she going to afford to do that off her own bat? No I'm not defending the muppet but if the OP goes off at half c o c k she could be very seriously disappointed.

    I feel for you, money is obviously tight, you could have payed some one a lot more for an equally poor job, but much more often than not, you'll get a proper job done by paying the going rate.

    The old adage springs to mind here, 'you pay peanuts you get monkeys!' :(
