The first item was a PC monitor, it was worth £50 and it was delivered a day when I was visiting family so I wasnt in, I live in a block of flats which has a keycode entry system but the doors arent numbered, it was signed for by someone who doesnt exist in our block and I was told to go back to Parcel2go whom I paid to organise courier.
I double checked with landlord since he owns every flat in our block(11 flats, 3 on ground and 4 on 2 more floors) and he says no one has that name or has friends with that name who lives here but hes certain the block of flats next door owned by someone else has a person with that name(though I cant check as it has a keycode door too)
So I have lost £50 as Parcel2Go keep promising to investigate then have no record of me ringing or using livehelp but now a similar problem has occured.
I sent another parcel to myself(as it has some stuff left over from a bedsit I just moved from in other end of country) and at first I was worried it was lost as the tracking number stopped working but this morning I slept in(was kept awake by drunks who sat on side of road till like 5am) and heard a faint knock, it didnt sound like it was my door though and sounded like neighbours one, I rushed out just in my underwear/shorts and saw a DHL guy walking down the steps so ran after him but he was VERY fast(and im sure I saw him turn his head and see me before he went downstairs!)
I did see a white van outside but noone in it but didnt wait about as I live in a busy high street and just wearing shorts looks bad! especially in the rain!
I came back upstairs and checked tracking number and it said delivered but the name said "HHHH"
I phoned DHL and they say it sounds like just a computer error as he may of just pressed the no one in to recieve button 5 times, but didnt know why a card wasnt left. I was promised a ring back from the manager of the local depot, this was at 12.30 and havent recieved one yet so rang back about 15 minutes ago and was told they cant get hold of driver and told me this was because it is dangerous to answer phone when driving so he must have his phone turned off.

It sounds to me as though your parcels have been 'door-stepped'. This is very easy to do in a block of flats, especially when you know the entry code or can get someone to let you in. If there is any comeback on it the driver just says, 'Well I pressed the buzzer and a person came to the door and signed for the parcel. I assumed that it was the recipient.' And, yes, I am talking from experience. I used to be a prolific 'door-stepper' but have since repented (I've been 'clean' since the new year)!
The stuff that DHL are telling you are straight out of The Parcel Manager's Big Book Of Excuses'.
Re. the 2nd parcel, did you notice wether the driver was carrying a parcel or not? Did you check at the doors of the other flats to see if he had left it there?
Don't forget that if the driver is self-employed then he will only get paid for parcles that are succesfully delivered. If he takes them back to the depot then he won't get paid for it.0 -
i use payperparcel who use dhl and fortunatly for me if i ever have a problem they fight the corner with dhl very well
i had two parcels that were to be collected the two people were in all day and dhl said they were not in, i knew one was for definate as it was my uncles office
(infact dhl had not even bothered to attempt to collect)
i would ask for the electronic sgnature proof for them both and keep on at your courier that uses dhl as this is not something you should be chasing up really
hope you get it sorted soon0 -
If you are the addressee and they don't have a POD then they haven't delivered the item.
The fact that they (may have) given it to someone else (could have been Mickey Mouse, as far as you are concerned!) is irrelevant; they entered into a contract with the shipper/consignee to deliver it to the addressee, and haven't.
As far as I can see, they have lost your item.
On the item that is in transit, they probably do a set route a day.
But I think that drivers can take instructions on the move.0
