I also find online shopping very useful for meal planning & budgeting.

i find that i use to buy a huge variety every week and it would mostly end up in the bin. so i try and get DD a big selection over the whole month, but for example this week we have got blueberries, pineapple and strawberries, next week we will get something different.

    5 packs of baby wipes

my problem is i keep buying reduced food and then not eating it. my other problem is just deciding on a whim that i want something and then zippping out to a supermarket to get it....and a whole lot of other stuff.

*Freeze left over fruit. Or mix it with yoghurt and freeze it. For an ice-cream type dessert.

*Make your own baby wipes. Look here for ideas http://www.make-your-own-baby-stuff.com/make-your-own-baby-wipes.html or google it.

making your own baby wipes isn't everyones cup of tea i tried it and it wasn't for me at all, however i loved my reusable nappies, but given the outlay and her age your prob best sticking to disposables

personally i love a reduced item but you need to make a point of using if you see something reduced and will use it ok get it, but make sure you use it either the next week or your remove something else from you list to replace it, if your using it the next week put it straight in the freezer, also you might find something you had on your list in the reduced section, like i regularly get mince reduced that i was going to buy anyway

saying that i also do my shopping online when money is tight as it helps me think it out so to speak because i then go threw my list and think do i really need that and remove what i don't

another good idea is only bring cash out with you and only enough for what you need and nothing more, i make a point of not bring my purse on teh school run because when i get the urge to nip to town or for a bap from the chippy i can't get it so i come home instead

    I've changed to Tesco recently.
They keep sending me vouchers ie save £10 if you spend £70 in one shop before a certain date & they give the the petrol coupon too.

    Hi STARGIRL and welcome,

Well done to you for paying your debts off, it's such a nice feeling to be free.

All the advice on here is good. If you're not confident with cooking, Delia is great, I still have the first cookbook I left home with in 1980 and it was a Delia, I also still use it. You can borrow from the library at first.

Try and go shopping with a list and menu plan. I don't know how old your daughter is but with my boy he ate the same as us, I never had baby food, just made sure that I left the salt out. If you're using puree get a handblender (buy or borrow), or mash it up with a fork. Even pasta can be mashed or pureed. If you have left-overs, you can freeze in yoghurt pots covered in clingfilm. Make a note of what you've got so you won't forget.

    Good luck

Morrisons baby wipes, basics are 18p a packet.
menu plan, that will be your main friend!
My ds is slightly older at 26 months. He just generally has whatever is being made. I've never bought specific baby made food him, umm, becuase I was too lazy. He weaned himself on finger foods. I just don't add salt to cooking which is healthier anyway.
If your BF eats quite often at yours, make him contribute

    Good Luck

Stargirl - as others have said, menu planning is the key! And not taking cash out with you unless you know you will definitely need it. And keeping a record of all your incidental spending so you know where the money goes each month.
