Yeah like I said the numbers weren't accurate, the underlying value could remain static and my example would work.
But, the underlying value is increasing, yet people just stick their fingers in their ears and shout LALLALALLA, which isn't helping themselves or anyone else.
Joe, we all know it's a simple bulltrap, helped by a spring bounce. We said this right at the start and have said it ever since.
That's not sticking fingers in ears. That is taking it for what is is and giving a reason for our sentiment.
What more can you ask for so that you could say we are listening?
What do you want us to say? This could be a recovery even though its' not?
A recovery cannot even start based on record breaking 0.5% interest rates and QE.0 -

You could say nothing.
The constant stream of posts on any positve news along the lines of "It's still less than peak LOLOL!!" just make you all look ignorant.
I said "you" because you said "we", and I assume you want to be lumped in with the kind of people I was mocking originally. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Not many at all are saying it's less than peak though.
A lot are saying its less than average / normal / whatever you want to call it.
I don't think people should say nothing at all.0 -

Didn't say they were, but those that do are looking mighty silly each timeGraham_Devon wrote: »I don't think people should say nothing at all.

the context has to be got right... these figures are only telling us that lending is flat looking at the gross amounts being lent each month. it reflects the current period of 'stability' that we're having - not a recovery and not a crash, just flattening it out it seems...0 -

Oh dear the dummy is out again. Lighten up you detestable pleb.
There are a lot of threads with an ignoramous current values comparing to peak, if you wish to argue over the choice of phrase I used, knock yourself out, I know how much you enjoy starting arguments for no reason.
Why defend them? They're idiots. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Certainly is!!
I just hate it when you go round saying this stuff, with absolutely no backup of what you are saying and the only reason you are saying it is to try and have a go at the bears. It's the worst form of desperation IMHO...and I'm not the one starting the arguments, it's you making a load of rubbish up.
If you are going to have a go, at least pick up on something thats actually said, instead of making some stuff up like you just did.0
