Pontins Camber Sands lift not working.

Hi everyone I have just come back from a 6 day break at Pontins Camber Sands. Just to warn anyone in wheelchair their lift up to main entertainment area was out of order the whole time I was there. It completely spoilt my holiday as I take my grandchildren there every year and the part I love most is seeing them enjoy the childrens entertainment.
I complained at reception and they said there was nothing they could do as they offered alternative entertainment downstairs. We tried it one night and it was quiz and a type of Bingo not suitable for children at all.
So I sat in every night while my husband took the children out.

I would write to head office. You would think the lift would be top prioity to fix asap.0

That's bad news, hopefully something Pontins will be fixing ASAP.
How did you find Camber? Did you go to any of the local pubs and bars?0 -
I love Camber because of the beautiful beach. There is not much else around but the Grandchildren love Pontins entertainment which is why we go. Hastings is less than half hour away, plenty going on there. Also Dover isn't that far if you fancy a day trip to France.
If your looking for lively bars and Discos Camber would not be for you.0 -
Disgraceful !
Write to the boss of Pontins
Head Office;Pontin's Ltd., Ainsdale House, Share Road, Ainsdale-On-Sea, Southport, PR8 2PZ, UK
You should also write to the trading standards office that covers Southport.
Write to the papers as well.
If you don't do something it may well be the same next week for other people and next year for you.
They also have a Facebook Group - leave some feedback.
Let us know what happens,

If you really want to go to Camber Sands phone up and ask If lift has been fixed, Or would they tell the truth?0 -
I have written my letter of complaint will let you all know how I get on.I have told them that somebody on this forum has suggested I complain and that you all want to know how I get on.I have said that although obviously not there fault lift broken I would have thought a site of that size would provide a second lift or a chair lift for emergencies seeing as they insist on putting all the childrens entertainment upstairs.
I have been back a week now and still feel upset I missed my grandchildren dancing with reps etc.
I feel more sorry for the poor kids in wheelchairs it will ruin their holidays.0 -
This is disgraceful. I would press for a refund, you paid for a holiday and didn't get what you paid for. Definately get more advice about this.
Pontins at Pakefield is good, everything's on the ground floor plus local areas are great for children.
I look forward to hearing what response you get. Good luckDFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -
Just to let you all know I have recieved a reply from Head Office. They have accepted the lift being broken ruined my holiday and have offered me a free short break in 2 bed chalet to be taken before 31.10.10. at any self catering Pontins.I am happy with that and thank you all for your advice.
I do not know if the lift is mended yet.0 -
That's good news and also good that they have given you up to next year to take the holiday.DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0
