Buying tickets in advance

If somebody bids for tickets for a concert some months in advance, what is accepted procedure for payment if the tickets will not be dispatched until approx 2 weeks before the concert?

There is no standard procedure it all depends on how much the buyer is willing to risk. Paypal have a fixed claim period of 45 days so if you pay and receive nothing after 45 days you have no claim against paypal and would need to persue the seller through small claims etc (asusming you have full postal details).

Personally I would not buy tickets on ebay knowing i was not covered.

Thanks again, it was for Pink tickets at the o2 and the seller seems to have a lot for sale, with only feedback of 4 and 83%, probably genuine, but not worth taking the chance.

If the tickets haven't been released the seller doesn't have any at all :D

I had noticed that there were some from long standing e-bayers with relatively high feedback, stating that they had e-mail confirmation of the tickets, but just felt wary of the other seller.

Oh, and 83% on a 4 feedback seller is 'not with a bargepole time'.

I sold some spare tickets a while back. They were the ones that turn up like a week before the gig and I listed them about a month before so had no problems with seller/buyer protection.
Obviously they were sent next day/special delivery.

Personally, I'd wait until either the tickets were in hand or near to the show time. Some ticket companies send tickets out sooner than others so try looking around and you may find some listings with 'in hand' scrawled all over :)

We all have to start somewhere, but it seemed he had an awful lot of tickets for her concerts, and if genuine, and hoping to make a few quid, he must be sorely disappointed, as not many bids, and some were "selling" for below face value.
