Marrakech - DIY or package?

Hi all,

Wondering if you can help - I'm booking a hol to Marrakech for 2 adults, early November (purely as these are the cheapest flights I can find - other dates would be considered - e.g. June/Sep/Oct), and estimate through some research that I can do the trip DIY style (i.e. book low cost flights, riad/hotel, taxi from airport) for approx £160 pp for 7 nights.

My question is; could we (and should we) book through a tour operator at a similar price - are there advantages to this, and does anyone have any suggestions of which operators to use?

We're also considering dividing our trip with 4 nights in Marrakech and a 3 day trip to the sahara (travelling by taxi to Zagora and a 1 night bedouin tent experience, then back to marrakech) - does anyone know of a good tour operator to book this with - either before we leave or once we are there?

Thanks in advance

Quick answer would be no.I would of thought definetly not at £160pp.
I would definetly go DIY as its much cheaper than a package.

If your only going for 7 nights, get all sorted from here.
We did the DIY style in august, yet i know its different from november, but most nice hotels were all booked, it wasted time, yet we were there for two weeks.
Plus they will eat you with regards your money if not carefull,
But saying all that, if your traveling vigurously for the 7 days, no point booking from here, each city you visit-just pop into the hotels yourself and check prices.
And what i found was-whilst driving through desert like places from town to town you come across beautifull hotels in the middle of no-where
