Ohhh, I've just realised what you mean! I though you were talking about angelfairy and was thinking "that's a long way to go"..money_maker wrote: »Thanks guys, the neighbour on the other side of her has just called over to tell me that she phoned this morning to tell her. It was quite sudden last night, he got a chest infection at 8.30pm and died at 11.45pm. She is coming home this evening. Think I will leave it a few days before I go over, it will be really hard as he is in the TA with my BIL so I have known him for longer than I have lived next to his mum. He is just so young, only a year older than my Chris, it just seems surreal
MM, maybe put a note offering to fetch shopping etc through the door before your neighbour gets home. An open note, half folded, not in an envelope otherwise she'll probably think it's a card and might not be up to opening cards just yet. Are your front doors quite close? Maybe suggest she (or other family member) can just nip out and put a list back through your door so she/they don't have to get into conversation with anyone if they don't feel like it just yet0 -
The other neighbour and her are quite good friends, have been living beside each other for about 20 years, so she has a key and is getting a few bits together to put in the fridge before she gets in. Her other son is my age, so I will probably go over to talk to him more next week.
Thanks guysThe two best things I have done with my life

MM, I hoovered with the help of the kids but packing away the shopping has done me in! I have no idea what to say to your neighbour, but I'm sure she will appreciate that your thinking of her and her family right now. Such a shame when it's so sudden and to someone who by the sounds of it, was very healthy.
Caz, I don't work there, so I just expect my coffee and grub to be presesnted to me! My Mum would expect someone who is smart looking (little make up, hair tied back, neat nails, no polish), polite to customers, clever enough to write the order down correctly (and legibly), knows when to serve drinks (nothing worse than ordering a meal that does take a good 10mins to make and getting your drink straight away, you just drink it all), when to clear plates from tables, and when it's quiet will not stand and gossip or dither about, but will automatically start cleaning and tidying. We have one like like that and one who always needs a shove to get moving! The coffee machine you will be shown how it works, I wouldn't even attempt ours! Best of luck with it, the place looks lovely!
Elle, you nutter! :rotfl:
Just going to clear the table and let the kids paint for a while. Hopefully DH isn't working late tonight.0 -
