Do B&Q exchange opened goods?

Bought a mira flight shower tray from B&Q and it comes with protective corners wrapped in a thick polythene with all the part within it.
I have opened all this up and broke the protective corners into pieces, i have now realised i have bought the wrong size!!!!
It still has the blue protective film on the tray.
Do you think they will exchange it for me?
I have the right size of shower screen 800mm and a 760mm tray!!!

Why don't you just ask them? They aren't legally obliged to, but most of the sheds are pretty good at accepting returns...If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Depends on how good a mood the manager is in. Expect to get something knocked of the price of the refund due to lack of packaging though...If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

B&Q are the best around for giving refunds even without receipt when they will give credit notes., unfortunately many unscrupulous types have found this out and will regularly buy products that are on sale or special offer, then return them for the full price a few weeks/months later.
As an example, my neighbour bought some paint for their fence, it was £25ish or 2 for £30, they bought them, left it a couple of months, went back, without the receipt and got a credit note on one tin for the full £25, then went to another store 10 minutes drive away and got £25 back on the other tin, they then used the credit notes to purchase something else, essentially with a £20 discount, as the most they paid was £30.
Another thing they do is as above, then sell the credit notes on Ebay.0
