watching dvds on my blackberry phone :how to convert dvd to pc files?

Hello i know that there are various dvd dycreoters around but can anyone recommend a free good one?
I want to add movies to my Blackberry phone to watch while i'm travelling.

this has got ROXIO softeware on it but i need to get the dvd onto my laptop first

Assuming you're using Windows, try using DVD Decrypter to rip the DVD onto your computer, and HandBrake to then convert it to mp4.

DVD Decrypter is great but not updated now so for a few of the very latest DVD's that it cannot decrypt use DVDFab HD Decrypter:-

you can install both without any problems.
