Kaspersky internet security

I'm getting a msg from windows security centre informing me that Kaspersky is on but in a format which is out of date with windows security centre. It would appear that I have 2 options: 1 is to set windows security centre that I am monitoring kaspersky manually, and 2 to install kaspersky 2010. I have just installed kaspersky 2009 and I am therefore reluctant to upgrade and presumably there would be a price to pay, but what are the consequences of leaving things as they are. I checked the kaspersky faq on this subject and it would appear that it is a known error - should I upgrade? Any advise would be much appreciated.
