Bosch washing machine confusion

Hi Guys
I'm a bit confused at Bosch washing machines model numbers, I was looking at buying the WAA24270GB however I cannot find any reference to it on their own website, if you zoom into the picture at http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/product/523151/BOSCH-WAA24270GB?cm_sp=FeatureEnd-_-Washing_Machines-_-position2 you can see the model series is "Maxx 5" which again has no reference to it on the manfactureres website.
My question is, does anyone know whether this is an old/discontinued model?, am I better going with something like the WAE24164GB which is on the bosch website, the reason I wanted to go with the other one was the "delay timer" feature, my mum uses it to give the clothes a good soak so its an essential feature!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated as its quite a lot of money and dont want to end up getting an outdated model

My dh works for Bosch though in heavy industry, but we get discounts of Bosch stuff so my kitchen/laundry are pretty Boschified.
The machine you mention on the Bosch website is from their basic range (Classixx). They have for years had three ranges for domestic appliances. Classix, Exxcel and Logixx.
However, I think companies like Curry's do have stuff made that suits their market. Certainly, the machine you detail could be some sort of hybrid they've taken. It may not be out of date as such, but perhaps not have the most up to date fascia. As far as I know (though I don't currently have uptodate staff lists) Maxx is not a range I know of. It may be a 'badge' Curry's have exclusive to them.
The machines on the website are the most up to date models. Bosch don't tend to have a huge range of models, but they do tend to be revised or updated a little each year. My own machine is about 6 years old now but it still has all the features mentioned online. If you compare the features on the Bosch site model you liked you may find the Curry's model actually has more.
You may be interested to know that the Bosch system encourages you to use less powder/tablets in the wash. The sensor somehow works out how dirty the clothes are, and because the machines use little water, they simply don't need as much detergent. When I first got my machine I was advised by the Bosch employee who delivered it, to put it on a 60 degree wash to clean out any vegetable oil coating on the drum. He said to use my standard amount of powder and to note how much sudsy water was still there before the final spin. His point was that I could see I would need less powder. He was right. He also said that to occasionally put the machine on a hot wash to clean it (no load in) as this would improve the life of the machine and clear out any soap residues around the outside of the drum.
I would say too, that when it says on the Curry's spec, that pc diagnostics are carried out by the service engineer, you should know that the software needed to do this is very expensive and we were told that if you need service which could include pc diagnostics, you should check any service company you use have the proper software to do the job thoroughly. If I need anything (my d/w went wrong after 5 years) I do call Bosch service simply because they do not mess you around. They say when they are coming to see you, AND they have a van full of spares with them so are very likely to have the spare you need on board. I realised the value of this when two friends' machines (different brands) went wrong and they were left without machines for 11 weeks and 6 weeks respectively - they socalled engineers never had the right spares and it was a whistle through the teeth job. In one case the chap who came asked my friend if she knew what the diagnostic code showing on her machine meant ...
This is a rather long post, I know, but I hope it has been of help.0 -
