Raining here and very dark, not quite the July we hoped for but my hairdresser told me that August forecast is very good, anyone else hear this? Have a great day everyone ;)

I am going to the Owen? building at the SHU - it is a large tower block - 10th floor no less..... if they don't have a lift I will spend the course time in hospital as I will be way to puffed!!! It is supposed to be in walking distance from the Castle Square stop on the tram. I will be there on Thursday as well - 2 day course on how to cope with having a student!!

TBH I would get off the stop before, Fitzalan Square/Ponds Forge as the route is a bit easier to follow on foot. There is practically no difference in it, have attached a link here for you. Alternatively if you caught the train all the way into Sheffield it's even easier as it's just up the hill from the station.

If you walk from the train station click this link ;)

    Toots Wish List Update......

Ok, as you call know, I travelled to Perth on my way home at the weekend and organised for Toots to have a luxury manicure at a very well known Salon in town.

When we got there, the girl who had booked the appointment had made a mess of the booking and Toots ended up going without. They were unable to rearrange appointments and there was nothing they could do and we had to leave. Toots was visibly upset and I was across between wanting to rage at the staff and cry for Toots.

However, the manager was out to lunch when this had happened at 1.30 and she called me to offer Toots vouchers by means of apology as they were truly upset that this had happened. (They have a very good reputation which they wanted to protect). Anyway, I said I would call back to sort an appointment time for Toots when I knew when I would be back and Toots would be out of hospital etc.

Originally I was going to treat Toots to her manicure, unbeknown to her, and as they were sending out vouchers for her manicure, I thought I would book her in for the pedicure too (so she couldnt chicken out) and her eyebrows, as she mentioned those in a previous post. I thought she could use the vouchers for the manicure and I would pay for the pedicure and the eyebrows.

HOWEVER!! The Salon have come up trumps......they have booked Toots in for all of her treatments COMPLIMENTARY. Also, as they beauty salon is upstairs, they have arranged for Toots to come in early and will make her a cup of tea etc, giving her time to relax and catch her breath back before her treatments start, so she isnt going into them already in a tizzy. They are also sending her out an appointment card to confirm that this is a definite and there will be no mistakes this time!

I've rung Toots and made her aware of the plans.....she is delighted that they have come up trumps and is looking forward to it....again!

Shes wanted to share her good news with you all so you can get excited for her.

    xx

    JO

What good news, please send toots my best wishes when you next speak / contact her.

What else is on her wish list,? I thought I saw it on the thread / old thread somewhere, but cannot find it, can someone pm it to me please?

  • Not much flying done here AGAIN - just had t/c from the boss to say that i dont have to go on the training planned for tomorrow as she is aware that I have been struggling with case load etc and home life and does not want to put more on me by having student and more study.

Sounds altruistic but basically she does not want me to go off sick. She is leaving the choice up to me. However I have been thinking about this - options:

    • go on course - no student til January - plenty of time to get on top of case work
    • will also have to move M&D to new flat - hopefully before then
    • may have to sort out DS to Uni in September
    • don't do course this year - plan it in for next year
    • This may mean that can't get rise in my grade as need to have students to be next grade up
I have to admit that I am very stressed at the moment which has probably lowered my immune system - hence the SF but I need the extra money of the higher grade - basically doing the same level of work as now - complex case work.

I have thought that if I don't get the higher grade I will look for an alternative post as all of our cases are complex. Oh...... I am not sure what to do now ...... Meeting for regrading is on Friday this week

sorry for the rant - I just though If I wrote it down then it may be easier to decide - its not......
