Abbey help!!!!!

Hi, hoping someone can help before i losr the plot with ABBEY!

I am an existing customer for Abbey and paid my mortgage always on time etc, i have a credit scoree of 999 and so does my partner. We are told based on our earning we can have a mortgage up to £550k!!! We dont want this at all and applied wll within our means.

We are buying another house, sold our house within 9 days, and porting across our mortgage, and borrowing a small additional, LTV is ok, they have all our paper work

Firstly we sent the paper work in, when i phoned they said can we supply another years set of accounts on seperate accounts not on same page (as our accountant provided!) so i faxed this, and was told its all fine, its gone to underwriters. TWICE i was told it was with undewrwriters, before i was then told, nope its not with underwriters, they need the years worth of acounts from my accountant that i already faxed! So they lost it! then, once i faxed again, they said it was going to underwriters again! This didnt happen as they had a bomb scare (belfast!) so went on monday. Then its had a IT error ever since, and apparently there is a few of us that have this, no one can see my file due to this IT error!!! totally now doing my head in! Friday afternoon just gone, it went to the head of mortgages to speed things up with thier IT department, but from tomorrow i start this crap all over again! to top it all off, my buyer now ready to exchange! told Abbey this, this seemed to pull there finger out a bit more, but they have been utterly useless when i am doing all the running and chasing!
Anyone got any ideas?????
please:confused:

This is a story that unfortunately is all too frequent at the moment, Abbey are in a mess behind the scenes because of closing some underwriting offices and merging others and of course changing criteria because of the mergers. All I can say is to just keep on their back, if you find one helpful person cling onto them for dear life and keep onto them, keep a diary of every conversation, time/date/person you spoke to so that you can complain later!

I can vouch for Abbey's slowness at the moment. Our offer took about 9 weeks and our buyers about 10. A few other people have said that if you express an interest in their insurance products, you may get your case looked at quicker.

We are also in the process of getting a mortgage with Abbey, who we are with currently, I'm really hoping they don't take too long as our buyers want to complete by the 7th August as they are having a baby and as we don't want to lose our buyers we are going to be moving in with my parents until everything is in place for our new house, we are even thinking of actually taking out their home insurance, even though its more expensive if it means it gets things moving then it will be money well spent lol

Thanks all, yes in same situation we were meant to be exchanging next tuesday, our buyers specified this! Took out their Building and contents insurance as i had heard the same, but decided today i shall be phoning every 2 hours!!! Till they can be as !!!!ed off with me as i am with them!
Would love to go else where, but the mortgage we are porting across will have a redemption attached to it, so stuck with them. We have cash buyers too so we need to be quick!
God, they werent this bad when i remortgaged with them, they couldnt do it quick enough and this was in December 08! lol thanks all. shall give progress reports to help others too.

well it seems i am still stuck in their IT issue! although their IT department got back to them today and said they know what the problem is and they hope to resolve it asap! problem is i am stuck in a queue of other IT ISSUES!
They have now said that if not resolved they will try and re key my application to see if this speeds things up! In my mind this could have been done last week! got them to phone me back by 2pm today................we shall see.......
have to say though the guy i am dealing with now is doing his absolute best, and he assures me its not my application it is down to this IT ISSUE!

    DO NOT GO NEAR ABBEY
I have a mortgage with them, never been in arrears, partner came out of work at xmas so we claim on the insurance, after !!!! up and !!!! up we are now 2 months in arrears, Aviva (insurance) have faxed abbey 3 times and wrote twice to explain THEY made mistakes, apparantly never received ANY of the faxes or letter, Even the lady in our local Abbey branch has tried to reason with Abbey mortgage, She confirms she has seen paperwork from AVIVA and faxed it through herself, Guess What,,, They never received it, They will not even entertain the laDy from the branch who is employed by the same people they are, A COMPLETE UTTER JOKE, BE WARNED, DO NOT TOUCH WITH A BARGEPOLE

although now aquired the Chief Exec's number for there head office! Who knows........it may work!

Even funnier, i did the B & C quote with them, and got home today to find they have sent i originally to the house i am buying, and i take it my seller has forwarded this to me at my current address!!! If it was not for the huge redemption payback, of which i refuse to give to them, i would go with anyone else!!!!! Even NR were not this bad!

Lotte thats awful, I'd definately complain.

I've been told today that our mortgage application has been 'fast tracked' and sent to the mortgage centre today and that we 'should have our mortgage offer confirmation letter by the end of the week', I don't think I will hold out much hope for that, maybe I will be pleasantly surprised lol

Gorgeestwo...............good luck, but i have been told this morning that the IT issue is now resolved they are fast tracking it now through, and should be up and running by the end of this week!!

How did i do it?? well i didnt mean too, but ended up in tears lastnight down the phone at them, this poor guy (not actually his fault is it!) had to listen to me! Think they must have though i am gonna lose the plot, but literally just had the call from him, to say its fixed its now on its way......

So i know there is a still a way to go, but at least i am not stuck in the system now. Will keep you all posted for the next episode
    lol = you have too!
