Best idea I've ever seen - make a profit from your wedding.... think of the interest you could save on your debt....
Free wedding photos too :rotfl:0 -
Yeah maybe I could earn £250 and have my wedding for free lolKarma - the consequences of ones acts."It's OK to falter otherwise how will you know what success feels like?"1 debt v 100 days £20000

Feeling a bit deflated today as I tried to arrange to see the registrar and they're fully booked for the next 2 weeks.
I think we'll have to leave the seeing the registrar until we're off in september
Ah well, I think I'll chear myself up tomorrow and go and swap some clubcard vouchers for some double rewards for wine.Karma - the consequences of ones acts."It's OK to falter otherwise how will you know what success feels like?"1 debt v 100 days £20000 -
OK
Today my ring arrived and I'm really pleased with it. For £10.99 it's great.
I phoned the registrar and made an appointment to see them on September 7th, so that's all sorted too.
Haven't managed to get to Mr T's so far though.Karma - the consequences of ones acts."It's OK to falter otherwise how will you know what success feels like?"1 debt v 100 days £20000 -
Have you thought about drinks with your meal or will people buy their own? Have you told the venue its a wedding meal I know its a cheap and cheerful meal but never know they may do some cheap fizz or soft drinks for free for you dont ask dont get as far as I am concerned.
can recommend contacting clinique/estee lauder for some free mini perfumes I did this for our wedding in 2006 and got 45 mini bottles of happy to be for our favours - know you wouldnt need to many but still worth asking and also some nice perfume for you to wear on the day - I used it on the day too but only coz its my fav perfume.
Photographer - contact the local college and ask if one of the photography students wants to come and take the photos and you will pay for the disc so you can then print them yourself and then maybe buy the student a bottle of wine or box of chocs as thankyou and let them use photos in their portfolio - we didnt do this as got a reasonable priced one but know people who have done it.0 -
Thanks Queenie.
I thought guests could buy their own drinks tbh, but since I can get some of the items I want by using vouchers perhaps I could buy desserts for my guests as well.
I will have to find out some prices.
I've been looking on youtube at how to make a scrapbook using brown paper bags so I thought I could use the same sort of principle with the brown envelopes I've been wombling from work.
Fingers crossed it will turn out OK :rotfl:Karma - the consequences of ones acts."It's OK to falter otherwise how will you know what success feels like?"1 debt v 100 days £20000 -
I've not read the whole thread but I just wanted to say I think it's brilliant keeping to a budget.
My wedding cost us less than £250 (not including the honeymoon)
I refused to get into the stress of it all.
I asked hubby to marry me, we did it 6 weeks later .
I didn't get engaged.......that's right ladies no engagement ring!
One of my friends thought I was insane, she spent around 15k on hers
13 years on.....we're still very much together & it gets better every year.

Hello all
Well there have been a couple of changes to my challenge!
We have been to the register office and set the date for 25th February 2010.
We decided to get xmas out of the way first.
We are getting married on a Thursday and I still intend spending no more than £250, but we are also thinking of having a wedding celebration type thingy on the Saturday night so I need another budget for that
There's a local pub that doesn't charge for hire of the room upstairs and it's supposed to be quite large. So I think this will be the way to go tbh.
So far we've spent £60 on entering our notices to marry. I can't include the holiday I booked in October now as it's a bit previous :rotfl:Karma - the consequences of ones acts."It's OK to falter otherwise how will you know what success feels like?"1 debt v 100 days £20000
