OK here's a little bit of an update so far.

Bought my ring off ebay, white gold electroplated, cost 99p plus £10 P&p&insurance. So £10.99 in total.

the pub I was on about does a carvery for £3.50 a head and you can go up as many times as you like for veg and yorkshire puds, so times by 15 (14 adults and the kids can share 1) that comes to £52.50.

A bottle of Spumanti?sp I think was £4.48 from Mr T's. That's for OH and me to enjoy on the evening. I don't like champagne, I find it too dry so sparkling sweet wine is fine by me.

    As I said before the cake's £7.48.

I thought I would make my own wedding album by having a go at scrapbooking. I can get loads of used but still decent large brown envelopes from work, A5, A4 and A3 sizes. I might try pressing some flowers and look for cheap paper / confetti to decorate.

So far I've budgeted for the wedding, a meal afterwards, a cake, a bottle of fizz, my ring, the honeymoon and I recon I've got £27.55 left.

Apart from wedding album expenses, button holes and possible little gifts for the guests what have I missed out?

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

    Hmmm, thinking about this.

Can you bake? Or can a friend? Bet you could make the cake for less!! Maybe a friend / family member could do it as a gift? We're making our own cup cakes and reckon it will be damn cheap!

Do you have clubcard vouchers? Arn't they worth double on wine or something similar at the moment??

Is future hubbie having a ring??

The cheapest you can get married for at our office is £100 (plus whatever the lisence costs).

    I think this is great!

Hi kr15snw, yes I do have about £16 of clubcard vouchers but would this be cheating?

I'd forgotten about wine offers tbh.

As for cup cakes I work for a high street baker and get staff discount but I just think that would be too mean lol.

I wanted a cake for the good luck it's supposed to bring.

My OH isn't fussed about having a ring, he did joke about using his old one but he could see I wasn't impressed by his suggestion :rotfl:

No vouchers are not cheating, I bought a 3 tier wedding cake from M&S for £19 cash the rest was vouchers I earned doing surveys, that is probably cheating, but I think using the clubcard vouchers wouldn't be it's just maximising your spending, hey you could probably sell your story and make enough for an amazing honeymoon if you were that way inclined.

    Thanks Violetta.

I've got £11.25 in coop vouchers and £21.50 clubcard vouchers.

I think I'll get the wine ( 2 bottles now yipee) with vouchers from Mr T's.

I'll probably get the cake as well with my vouchers and maybe some bits and bobs for my album.

I'll have to have a look in the coop to see what they've got.

I don't want to sell my story lol, that made me chuckle. I'm far too shy.

Oooh I love this thread, i'm not even getting married (I love weddings though) but I think it's such a brill idea and I shall be following it :D When my OH and I get married we will definitely be having a thrifty wedding.

I don't think using vouchers is cheating, it's like free money isn't it? On the Thrifty threads we use vouchers for presents so we don't have to spend "real" money on them.

Best idea I've ever seen - make a profit from your wedding.... think of the interest you could save on your debt....
