Can Credit card companies charge for supplying ppi charges statements

I have had a credit card with one major supplier since 2002 and was sold the PPI plan without them asking any questions about previous medical issues. I have been on blood pressure control tablets due to kidney problems since 1999. If I had needed to claim for this I assume the case would be null & void under previous medical conditions The card is now cleared but I have disposed of all my statements can the card supplier charge for providing copies of old statments or a summary of the PPI charges before I try to reclaim PPI premiums, which I think will be arround £2000.

Yes they can, why?0 -
Thank you, I was unsure if they could charge as I think that as the PPI was mis sold so wanted to claim. I asked them to close the credit card down as it was clear and not being used, they did not close it down. I shredded all the statements except the last one as it showed a balance of £0.00. The card company has come back on to the radar as they have sent me a letter saying the account will be closed later this month as there is no outstanding balance an no activity on the account. I am not sure how much I have paid in PPI but due to the medical condition I have had for the last 10 years think there is a good chance of claiming as the credit card was taken out in 2002 and was unsure of what costs I could incur if I used the template letter to request a breakdown of the ppi charges.0
