Puzzled By How Wasps Get In My Bedroom

Recently I have had a spate of wasps (not very active ones) appear on my bedroom window every day when I come home from work, sometimes t
two or three at a time.

Been keeping my window (double glazed) shut most of the time. Last aug I had a false ceiling put in and I know with the re-wire I had there was a hole in old ceiling for new wiring to come through. Now all replastered and finised my ceiling rose is not fitted properly to ceiling as the screws do not go in properly so have left it till I get electrician in to do all my light fittings properly.

I have checked for holes in my bedroom round the window etc under bed, behind wardrobe and keep the bedroom door shut all day till I come home then I find dead ones on carpet near window and some on window.

Can't hear a nest in the loft, and its driving me mad!

How are they getting in???

Via loft/floorboards? Keep a lookout outside for wasps going in holes at soffits /air vents/guttering etc..they'll be in there somewhere !
  • My house is too high for me to see anything going in, I live in a mid terraced and if I looked they would probably be coming in from the front. Both floors are 11ft high in the walls. I never see them crawling in or hear them flying in the bedroom:rolleyes:. Its just so annoying. Pretty sure i would have to sit in my bedroom all flippin day.

We used to live in a terrace of cottages with wasps nests every summer as there were little access points to the lofts by the dormer windows. I could never hear them either - I don't think you do unless it's a massive nest - best bet is to get the pest control man out and he can find them with his ladders and safety gear.

  • just seen them outside flying into the air brick at top of house which is to the far left corner of house and window. Council charge £50 which is just one visit, ridiculous. They say nests start being built in june and get big by september. Just going to block the hole in ceiling. Just going to leave it now.

We keep finding wasps on a our living room window sill, always dead. I never hear or see them (alive) and i'm in the house most of the time. It's weird that they never go anywhere else and why they're always dead, maybe not enough air? I'm not complaining though, a dead wasp it much better than a non dead wasp! :rotfl:
