Nationwide Flex- Can i upgrade?

Can anyone advise if i am able to upgrade my Nationwide Flex account?
I've got bad credit history and happily use this account with on line banking to make payments. However, as i am in the process of re claiming charges back from the Halifax from my account that has a cheque book and Visa Electron card but no overdraft, i would like to know if i could get the same with Nationwide Flex. I'm not bothered about the over draft but having a cheque book and debit card to make payments instead of making them on line would be nice.
I've had the account for about 5 months now - does anyone know if i could qualify for an upgrade?

The easiest way is to go to the branch and ask.0

Nationwide are likely to give you a flexaccount but with no overdraft and only a cash card as they do not do visa electron only visa debit.
My GF has a default 3yrs old but other than that immaculate credit history and was able to get an electron card by switching to A&L, BTW my girlfriend also works for NW head office and even she could not get them to change their mind about the debit card.Debt Free Marathon: Start 01/06/09 £16714 - Current Position £14514 - Finish Line Xmas 20100 -
Dear Simonts
