How can I open a .wps file?

Hi all,

I have windows XP and use star office - if someone sends me a .wps file I am unable to open it. Is there a safe file converter I can download to pen these files?

thanks

To be honest the easiest thing would be to ask the person who made it to save it in a compatible format (maybe .rtf) rather than a Microsoft Works format that noone uses.

If it isn't anything sensitive you could try here:

  • hmm, I would rather not have to ask them to resend it - it will give the game away that I have not got round to looking at it yet!! Will it open on a pc that has MS office on it?

Depends on the version of office I think. If it's one that doesn't open it there should be a free plugin/converter available on MS's download site. E.g. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=bf41401e-70fa-465d-ae2e-cf44dbf05297&displayLang=en

In fact I'm not sur ebut you may be able to use the converter on its' own and so use it on your StarOffice machine.
