How do I share files between a pc and a wireless laptop, and a printer connected to the pc too?
PC is XP and laptop is Vista. I've read several things but its not working and has just confused me more.

what firewalls are you using on each PC ??

you need to set up a "Rule" to allow all traffic via your wireless card in your firewall software. If you are using the built in Vista/XP ones then it should just work

you need to allow that traffic in the tiny firewall , there should be a section for advanced rules, try turning it off for a minute and using the XP one to see if the sharing works

  • I think I need to go right back to the beginning and set up the pc and laptop for sharing, I'm not sure I've got that bit right even.

you also need to share any folders on each PC you want to share

To share folders with other users on your network
    1. Open My Documents in Windows Explorer. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Windows Explorer.
    2. Click the folder you want to share.
    3. Click Share this folder in File and Folder Tasks.
    4. In the Properties dialog box select the radio button Share this folder to share the folder with other users on your network, as shown in Figure 1 below.
