Can someone shed any light as to if this is a good processor Intel® Pentium® processor T4200
• 2 GHz, Level 2 cache 1 MB as i am thinking of buying a Hp Pavilion dv6-1133ea. I know the dual core duos are quite good but cant find much comparison of these processors.

It's in this list, the high end section, with a rating of 1241.

I would not consider the Pentium T4200 a high end CPU. The Pentium brand is used by Intel now for their budget CPUs. Notice that in the chart the T4200 you mentioned is near the bottom.
In order of descending performance levels (and price) Intel CPUs are segemented by these brands:- Core i7 series
- Core 2 series
- Pentium series
- Celeron series

how good a processor is can be very subjective, and really depends on what you want the pc to do. Unless high-end gaming(where the gfx card is more important) or mega-video editing, you probably won't see much difference day=to-day if you paid out twice as much on a processor........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -

Thanks for all the opinions i'm really lookiing to use it daily web browsing email music some videos photo's nothing intensive like video editing. I have had hp laptops before and found them quite reliable. It just seems a little confusing with all the different processors available i must admit a preference to intel over amd but thats just a personal preference.0
