credit report query

Hi everyone :)

I checked my credit report for the first time the other day from Experian.

I noticed that my mortgage payments didn't come up and thought that was strange. I've had a mortgage for a year now and it's all been payed on time. I now think it may be because my mortgage is under my full birth certificate name.

My bank account, furniture loan, mobile phone contract is all under the name I've always used and been known by e.g. John Smith.

However my mortgage is under, say, David John Andrew Smith (note that my first name. which I use all the time, is the second name on my birth certificate).

Should I do anything? If so, what?

Thank you :)

Maybe your provider uses Equifax or Callcredit? Have you checked?

There is an Aliases section of your credit report that, with Experian, and no Aliases shows:
Aliases are created when lenders tell us of other names you have been known by or when you tell us of other
names you have used. Your credit report will include information recorded in these other names at the addresses
you gave us when you applied for CreditExpert membership.

If you want your mortgage to appear as part of your credit report then I'd phone the CRA and take their advice, they'll advise you if it's something they can fix at their end by linking the two name references.

    1. I just noticed on the summary of my credit report that under the headings related to credit it says also 'EXCLUDING MORTGAGES'.

Thus, should I assume Experian doesn't include mortgages BY CHOICE rather than b/c my mortgage is under my full birth cert. name?

    2. Also, I just noticed that under the heading 'individuals you may be financially connected to' it has my dad's name. But I don't have any FINANCIAL connection to my dad?

    Thank you :)
