Ebays begging mail to sign their petition - DELETED

Ebay had the cheek to send me, and I guess every member a message demanding I sign a petition against "unfair trading practices" or something because a load of exclusive brands have tried to get their stuff stopped from being sold on their.
Well if Ebay actually did anything to investigate counterfeit products themselves this wouldn't have happened.
The fact is Ebay have been less than helpful with ANY dispute I have ever had.
I gave them the simple answer - delete message permanently. What cheek they have!!!

I had it too. It is legitimate.
People were reporting issues with fake purchases to eBay for years and their response, as with most reports, was apathetic and patronising. Then when the brands got tough eBay went overboard and started pulling everything without question and making sellers go through the ridiculous VERO test. Now the brands are striking back and eBay are running scared. All I can say is it serves them right. Its just a shame that eBay will not realise why this problem occurred.
They use the 'we are just a venue' excuse when it suits whilst continually interfering with how sellers operate and introducing new rule after new rule. They cannot have it both ways.0 -
There not exactly begging. But most petitions are a waste of space anyway. Theres a lot of people getting realy wound up about this petition (lifes too short). I just deleted it0

No email received on any of my ebay accounts - perhaps realted to mailing preferences?
(I haven't subscribed to any Promotions and Surveys mailings)
However the request is genuine - it was an ebay announcement:

No I guess not begging but a DEMAND!! - I find this even more offensive.
Thanks for the replies guys - They can go swivel !
I really hope it hits them hard, in the pocket, like they do to us genuine personal sellers.
Only problem is they will just introduce some more backhanded charges and fees to pay their fines or legal fees!!0 -

"Here at eBay, we have totally ignored any reports from our customers for years about fake items being sold on eBay. Now, the big brands are unhappy and want to stop their brand being sold on eBay altogether. Please sign our petition so we can bleat on about the unfairness despite our total inability to deal with obvious infringements on our site and allow us to continue taking no definative action in the future"
Sorry, thats how I read their petition with my blurred eBay tinted glasses.0
