Thank you so much shopndrop, I literally nearly bought that exact same model last week. I reserved it but never collected it. Now it's dropped down to £7.98, I'm definitely getting one this time!

Bought mine last night from Solihull. Got it home but not tried it yet. Has anyone else noticed that the lid is not a "tight" fit? Or is it meant to be slightly lose? I thought that it had to be almost airtight fit? It's about as tight as a casserole dish lid to be honest, actually maybe even slightly worse, it slightly rocks.

Before you start maybe discover Google (www.google.co.uk). You can put in 'what is a slow cooker' and get results up like this :

which go a long way to answering your question.

I'd sum it up like this, it's a pot that cooks using the same power as a light bulb which is very cost effective. It's also excellent for busy people who can just throw a whole load of ingredients into the pot before they go to work and have a lovely meal all ready when they arrive home.

There are lots of slow cookers out on the market, I've had mine for over a decade and it's basic one setting (low) and I think 3.5 litres. But it has served us well. And at the prices nowadays I'd recommend paying the £9 odd. It's a good investment.
