Extortionate N Power Electricity Prices

Hi,

I am hoping you can help me.

I have had problems with N Power before and the problem took 2 and a half years to resolve!! Yes, I got a letter every week for over 2 years saying N Power were looking into my complaint and nothing happened, until it was finally resolved.

I live in a 2 bed flat (built 2004 and energy efficient). N Power are trying to tell me that the consumption is £100 a month! This seems huge, we have no gas. We have night storage heaters which aren't even used from April onwards or the flat is simply too hot. The only things we have are standard TV, fridge, washing machine. There are two of us who live in the flat and the flat is unoccpied during the day

Is £100 excessive as it seems to be, my mother has a 4 bed house and her gas and electric comes to £80 a month!

N Power say there is nothing wrong, but surely this can't be right, or can it?

I have complained before by to say N Power are inept would be an understatement!

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Sorry but £100 for an all electric 2 bed flat is reasonable. Especially if you are on an expensive tariff and are inefficient with your usage. Your mother probably uses less in terms of computers,tv,phone chargers, etc and she can heat her water with gas which is more efficient and cheaper than electric.

What is your usage? £100 is below average so is technically a reasonable sum for an average flat with expensive heating.

But with storage heaters you could easily be paying too much for your other stuff if on an Economy 7 tariff. If not, then your heaters will be expensive.

How much do you use weekly when not using the heating?

If you take into account if gas and electric was ther you would be paying between 80-100 p/m. Speak to energy efficeny and they will help you. Or pay for a meter test. One thing I would ask you to post is 7 day reads taken at the same time
